Legrand recently announced the acquisition of two European companies, Quitérios from Portugal and Amperio Project from Switzerland, marking a significant expansion in the data center and digital infrastructure markets. These acquisitions are in line with Legrand’s strategic objective to enhance its offerings in sectors associated with the growing energy and digital transformation trends.
Quitérios, based in Mira, Portugal, specializes in manufacturing digital and electrical modular distribution boards crucial for managing power efficiently and safely in modern data centers and industrial facilities. With over 100 employees and annual revenues nearing €20 million, Quitérios is known for its engineering expertise and scalable power distribution solutions tailored to meet the increasing demands of data centers, telecom operators, and large commercial buildings across Europe.
On the other hand, Amperio Project, located in Murten, Switzerland, is a renowned specialist in busbar power distribution systems, vital for high-density environments like data centers. With a team of approximately 20 employees and annual sales exceeding €4 million, Amperio Project is recognized for its customized and compact busbar solutions that facilitate efficient and flexible energy delivery, ultimately enhancing operational resilience and performance.
Strengthening Global Data Center Portfolio
Both acquisitions are set to bolster Legrand’s global data center portfolio by adding complementary technologies and expanding its market presence in Southern and Central Europe. As a leading expert in electrical and digital building infrastructures, Legrand continues to diversify its data center solutions, encompassing racks, cable management, power distribution units, and cooling systems.
By integrating Quitérios’ modular distribution expertise and Amperio’s compact busbar systems, Legrand is poised to deliver integrated, energy-efficient solutions tailored for hyperscale, colocation, and edge data centers. These strategic acquisitions, along with the previous purchases of Computer Room Solutions (CRS) in Australia and Linkk Busway Systems in Malaysia, reinforce Legrand’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of the rapidly evolving industries associated with energy and digital transformation.
With an annual income exceeding €100 million collectively from the recent acquisitions, Legrand’s CEO, Benoît Coquart, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s progress. These investments align perfectly with Legrand’s 2030 strategic plan, focusing on strengthening its position in industries experiencing significant growth due to the ongoing energy and digital transformation. As the demand for scalable and high-performance data center infrastructure continues to rise, Legrand’s ongoing investments underscore its dedication to maintaining a prominent role in the digital infrastructure sector across global markets.
