In a Nutshell
- Reports suggest a potential delay in the release of several Google Pixel models
- Expected delay for Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a
- Supply chain issues are the main cause of the delay
Google is facing production challenges with its upcoming smart devices, leading to possible delays for certain models.
According to sources, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a may not ship as planned alongside the rest of the Google Pixel 10 range on 20 August.
The supply chain issues are reportedly causing a delay, pushing the release date of the three devices to 9 October.
While the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL are still expected to hit stores on 28 August, the other models will be delayed by six weeks.
Evaluating the Delay
Comparatively, last year saw slight delays in the release of some Pixel models, such as the Pixel Watch 3 and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The reported delay for the new devices amounts to roughly two weeks, which is not as significant as it may seem.
The Pixel Fold 10 Pro is expected to bring significant advancements, including a new display, hinge system, and innovative features like IP68 rating and Qi2 compatibility.
As for the reasons behind the delay of the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a, more clarity may be provided at the upcoming Made by Google event on 20 August.
