The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is set to make its debut at an unconventional time of year, adding an element of surprise to its highly anticipated launch.
Xiaomi recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone series, which includes the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Pro, in China in September, with a global release scheduled for the New Year.
The unveiling of the top-tier Xiaomi 17 Ultra was expected to take place in December, and recent reports suggest that the announcement will occur on December 26, with pre-orders available from December 15 to 25. This unconventional timing, coinciding with Boxing Day, may catch many off guard.

Despite the unconventional timing, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s price is expected to remain consistent with its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. While it may not see a price increase, it also won’t see a price decrease.
The standout feature of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be its new 1-inch main camera sensor, building upon the success of its predecessor as one of the top camera phones available. Additionally, it is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, aligning with the specifications of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Pro.
