Google has unveiled the initial beta version of the upcoming Android 16 update, giving Pixel owners a sneak peek at what’s to come in early 2026.
Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 is now rolling out to Pixel users enrolled in Google’s Android Beta program. The full release of Android 16 QPR3 is expected to be available to all Pixel owners in March as part of Google’s quarterly ‘Feature Drop’ updates.
While more features are anticipated in future beta releases, the first beta version offers some exciting enhancements. Here are some of the key updates to look forward to:

Google extends support to Samsung users
Google now offers the option for users to arrange virtual navigation buttons in a Samsung-style layout, a move that caters to the preferences of Samsung smartphone users.
Adjustable flashlight feature
Android 16 introduces the ability to adjust the intensity of the flashlight directly from the Quick Settings menu, a feature long present in other smartphone platforms.
Removal of At a Glance widget
Following the update, users will have the option to remove the At a Glance widget from their Pixel phone’s Home Screen, a change that many users have eagerly awaited.

Updated folder opening animation
