The recent announcement from Roku in the US brings four new updates that will gradually be rolled out to various devices over the next few weeks, as mentioned in the official press release. So, if you don’t see these features on your device yet, don’t worry, they are on their way.
One of the new features is the addition of Top 10 Trending Lists in the New & Popular section, showcasing the most popular movies and TV shows searched for on the platform. These lists are updated daily, keeping you informed about the latest trends in entertainment.
Planning your movie nights is now easier with the Movie Night feature. While you can’t watch exclusive cinema releases, like The Fantastic Four: First Steps, you can save them to your list to access them conveniently once they become available for streaming.
If you’re undecided about saving a movie, you can watch the trailer right alongside the title to help you make a decision.
For those overwhelmed by the plethora of free content on The Roku Channel, Surf Mode utilizes AI to curate short clips of shows and movies tailored to your preferences, ensuring they are all watchable content.
Additionally, the Live TV section is receiving an update, allowing you to access the latest free live channels through the Newly Added section of the TV guide.
These new features come on the heels of the launch of two new Roku devices, the Roku Streaming Stick and Roku Streaming Stick Plus, as well as three significant updates to Roku TV models in the UK aimed at improving navigation.
Tech Advisor has reached out to Roku for confirmation on whether these updates will also be available on UK devices. For a complete list of Roku TVs and streaming sticks, visit the Roku website.
