In a Nutshell
- The latest Pixel Drop update is now being rolled out
- New features include themes, notification summaries, and scam protection
- Some features are currently exclusive to the US
Google has recently started the rollout of its latest Pixel Drop update, packed with a range of new features for Pixel smartphone users.
The November Pixel Drop update has arrived earlier than expected, offering users a variety of enhancements and improvements.
Here are some of the key features included in the November Pixel Drop update. For a more detailed overview, you can visit Google’s support page.
Notification Summaries
One of the new features introduced in the update is the ability to receive summarized notifications directly in the notification shade using Google’s AI technology. This allows users to quickly grasp the content of a message or conversation without opening the app.
Similar functionality has been seen in recent versions of iOS by Apple, but Google’s implementation aims to provide more useful insights.
Starting from December, users will also have the option to silence less important notifications.
Personalized Photo Edits
Google has enhanced its photo editing tools by introducing personalized photo edits. Users can now make group photo corrections using simple commands like “Remove Riley’s sunglasses, open my eyes, make Engel smile and open her eyes.” These edits are made possible by extracting information from other photos in the user’s gallery, provided that contacts are properly labeled in Face Groups.
Currently, this feature is only available in the US and requires users to be 18 or older with location estimates enabled.
Enhanced Scam Protection
The Pixel Drop update also includes improvements to Google’s Scam Detection feature, offering scam alerts across various messaging services. Users will receive notifications indicating a “Likely scam” when a suspicious message is detected.
Unfortunately, this feature is currently limited to Pixel 6 phones and later models in the US.
Themed Customization Packs
Google has introduced themed customization packs for Pixel phones, featuring custom wallpapers, icons, GIFs, and sounds. The initial theme pack, “Wicked: For Good,” is inspired by a new musical movie and offers three distinct styles to choose from.

VIP Notifications
Google has enhanced the VIP contacts feature, prioritizing notifications from selected VIPs. Additionally, a crisis badge has been added to the Contacts widget to provide critical alert updates.
Photo Remixes
A new Remix feature has been introduced in Google Messages, allowing users to make quick edits within message threads. Users can exchange remixes with others using Google Messages, regardless of the recipient’s device.

Battery-Saving Navigation
Users can now conserve battery power while using Google Maps for navigation by pressing the power button. This action switches the display to a simplified layout showing essential information like upcoming turns, ensuring continued navigation even with low battery levels.
Expanded Scam Detection and Call Notes
Google is extending its Scam Detection feature in voice calls to Pixel 9 and later models in the UK, Ireland, India, Australia, and Canada. Additionally, Call Notes functionality is being rolled out to users in Australia, Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Japan, enabling call transcription and summarization.
Enhancements to Magic Cue
Google is enhancing the Magic Cue feature, aimed at providing cross-app suggestions with a single tap. The update promises more timely suggestions, potentially improving the functionality for a wider user base.
