OnePlus has built a reputation for producing top-tier smartphones, earning the title of ‘flagship killer’ in its early days. However, the company has since ventured into the realm of high-end handsets, with devices like the OnePlus 13 and 13R showcasing impressive performance and features. As the anticipation for the next generation builds, leaks and rumors surrounding the OnePlus 15 and 15R have begun to surface. Let’s delve into what we know so far about these upcoming flagship and upper-mid-range phones.

OnePlus 15 and 15R: In summary

  • OnePlus’ next flagship and upper-mid-range phones
  • Likely to cost around £899/$899 and £679/$599.99 respectively
  • Rumoured to debut in China in October before global launch

OnePlus was initially known for its ‘flagship killer’ smartphones, but in recent years, the company has shown it can also make excellent high-end handsets.

Its latest attempt, the OnePlus 13, delivered an impressive competition of superb performance, incredible battery life and a slick, AI-infused software experience. As our guide to the best phones you can buy shows, it’s undoubtedly one of the finest handsets around.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 13R is a strong mid-range device, delivering a surprisingly high-end experience at a more affordable price.

However, attention has quickly shifted to the next generation. With the number 4 being considered unlucky in OnePlus’ native China, the company has skipped straight to 15. And there’s no shortage of leaks and rumours – here’s everything you need to know.

When will the OnePlus 15 be released?

In summary

  • Rumour suggests October launch in China
  • Global launch reportedly in Q1 of 2026
  • Would match OnePlus 13 and 13R schedule

Just like previous generations, the OnePlus 15 series is expected to debut in China, before launching globally a few months later.

Specifically, popular Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station says the Chinese launch will take place in October 2024. But when will it come to the UK and US?

Well, the only other concrete source mentions a ‘Q1 26’ launch, which is presumably referring to the global launch. In other words, it would arrive anytime between January and March of 2026.

However, if the OnePlus 13 timeline is anything to go by, it’ll be at the beginning of that window. The 13 and 13R launched in China in October 2025, before arriving globally in January 2025.

And, with both of those phones being sold in the UK and the US, we have high hopes for a similar situation this time around.

How much will the OnePlus 15 cost?

In summary

  • No pricing rumours yet
  • OnePlus 13 started at £899/$899, while 13R was from £679/$599.99
  • Likely to be similar this time around

There are no concrete details regarding how much the OnePlus 15 could cost at this stage. However, the UK and US pricing of the current phones serves as a useful guide:

  • OnePlus 13, 256GB storage – £899/$899
  • OnePlus 13, 512GB storage – £999/$999
  • OnePlus 13R, 256GB storage – £679/$599.99

Unless there are wholesale changes, it’s likely to remain around the same, but that’s only speculation at this stage. Make no mistake, we’re looking at premium phones here.

What specs and features will the OnePlus 15 have?

In summary

  • OnePlus 15 set to be one of the first Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 phones
  • 15R rumoured to get 7000mAh battery
  • Circular rear camera bars could be ditched

It’s many months before the OnePlus 15 series is expected to make its way to the UK and US. But with a Chinese launch happening much sooner, some key specs and features have leaked. Here’s what we’re expecting from the flagship phone.

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset
  • 6.8-inch, 1.5K flat OLED display
  • 50Mp triple rear cameras, including 3x periscope telephoto
  • Battery of 6000mAh or higher
  • New rear camera design

There are plenty of things to talk about. The OnePlus 15 is expected to be one of the first phones to get Qualcomm’s new flagship chipset, behind only the Xiaomi 16 series so far.

If leaks are true, the phone would have a slightly smaller display than the 13 (6.82 inches), drop down slightly from the 1440p resolution and be flat rather than curved. Whether this constitutes an upgrade or a downgrade will depend on the person.

The back of the phone could also look radically different, with the 13’s large circular camera module apparently ditched in favour of “a small square matrix in the upper left corner”. Based on that description, it’s likely to look similar to the OnePlus 13T and OnePlus 13s (shown below).

While the 50Mp main, 50Mp ultrawide and 32Mp selfie cameras might remain unchanged, the 50Mp 3x telephoto is expected to be upgraded to a periscope lens, which could improve zoom performance.

And just how much better could battery life get? The OnePlus 13’s 6000mAh cell already lasts a very long time, but any improvements are always welcome.

Plenty has also been rumoured regarding the OnePlus 13R:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset
  • 1.5K flat OLED display with 165Hz refresh rate
  • Triple rear cameras (main, ultrawide, telephoto – unclear if upgraded)
  • Battery 7000mAh or higher
  • Ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor
  • IP68/IP69 rating (possible)
  • Metal frame (possible)

Moving to what will soon be the previous-gen Qualcomm flagship chip is a smart move, and basically guarantees excellent performance. The 6000mAh battery on the 13R is already impressive, but bumping it up to 7000mAh could take things to the next level.

Bumping the refresh rate from 120- to 165Hz and switching out the optical under-display fingerprint sensor for a superior ultrasonic one are both nice touches, too.
