After the success of the first season, fans of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series can rejoice as Disney has confirmed the release of the second season. The highly anticipated season is set to premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The news was officially announced during Comic-Con 2025 in San Diego, where Disney also unveiled a teaser for the upcoming season.
In the first season, viewers were introduced to Percy Jackson, a demigod who embarks on a quest to find Zeus’s missing lightning bolt. Along the way, he teams up with his friends Grover and Annabeth to navigate the world of gods, monsters, and mythical creatures.
Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be based on the second book in the series, titled “The Sea of Monsters.” The plot follows Percy as he returns to Camp Half-Blood to find that the camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy sets off on a dangerous journey to the Sea of Monsters to set things right and face his destiny as the son of Poseidon.
The cast for the second season is expected to include familiar faces such as Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. Additionally, new characters will be introduced, including Daniel Diemer as Tyson, a Cyclops and Percy’s half-brother.
Notable additions to the cast include Kristen Schaal, Sandra Bernhard, and Margaret Cho as the Gray Sisters, ancient women who share one eye and one tooth and run a cab company in Percy’s universe. Timothy Simons will also join the cast as Tantalus, the interim Activities Director at Camp Half-Blood.
The crew behind the show includes showrunners Jonathon E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, along with writers Monica Owusu-Breen, Daphne Olive, and others. The series is executive produced by Rick Riordan, Steinberg, and Shotz, and directed by James Bobin, Anders Engström, and Jet Wilkinson.
Fans can rest assured that there will be a third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, as Disney has already announced plans for its production. With plenty of source material from the book series, fans can look forward to more adventures with Percy and his friends in the future.
Olive Abercrombie is set to take on the role of demigod Bianca di Angelo, while Levi Chrisopulos will be portraying her younger brother, demigod Nico di Angelo.
