Samsung is gearing up to expand its wearable offering with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch, as per fresh leaks circulating online. While an official announcement is still a few months away, it seems that Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Watch 8 alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Recent leaks have shed light on some key details about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series. Two distinct models, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, have been spotted in certification listings at SafetyKorea. This news comes as a pleasant surprise since Samsung did not release a Galaxy Watch 7 Classic.

The batteries for these new models, codenamed EB-BL330ABY and EB-BL505ABY, hint at improved capacities compared to their predecessors. The EB-BL330ABY battery, in particular, boasts a typical capacity of 435 mAh, slightly larger than the 425 mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7.

Additionally, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has made an appearance on the Bluetooth SIG site with a ‘SM-L505U’ model number. While there is speculation that this model could be the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, the clear naming suggests otherwise. It is likely that Samsung is also working on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.

In another leak, details about the firmware for the Galaxy Watch 8 have surfaced online. According to Twitter tipster Theordysm, there are six variants of the firmware, potentially indicating different models within the Galaxy Watch 8 series. The inclusion of the Classic model is promising, and users can expect advanced health features to work seamlessly even without a Samsung phone connection.

Overall, the anticipation for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is building up, with fans eagerly awaiting the official announcement. The leaks so far suggest that Samsung is upping its game in the wearable market, promising exciting features and improvements in the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 series. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch of these highly anticipated smartwatches.
