The merger between Vodafone and Three UK owners CK Hutchison was finalized on May 31, 2025. This new entity aims to revolutionize the 5G network landscape in Europe, enhance customer experience, and offer better value to mobile and broadband users across the UK.
Existing Vodafone and Three customers can expect improvements in their mobile network coverage as the two companies have begun sharing their infrastructure. Additionally, Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) that rely on Vodafone or Three’s networks will also benefit from this collaboration.
As part of the merger agreement, prices and contract terms for wholesale services purchased by MVNOs will remain competitive until 2028. This ensures that customers of MVNOs such as Voxi, iD Mobile, and others continue to enjoy affordable plans.
The VodafoneThree merger is set to have a positive impact on the mobile network landscape in the UK. While it may reduce competition, the collaboration between Vodafone and Three is expected to drive improvements in network quality and coverage for all customers involved.
