Maisto suggested that the implementation of a “Buy European Act” could help promote better competition in the European cloud and IT markets, although it might be a long-term strategy.
Additionally, John Annand, digital infrastructure practice lead at Info-Tech Research Group, highlighted the impact of Broadcom’s changes on cloud provider partners. Following Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, special pricing deals were discontinued, affecting all cloud provider partners. However, members of CISPE, particularly smaller CSPs, were disproportionately impacted. European clients may face restrictions on purchasing VMware from non-compliant cloud providers starting in October.
