Apple has assembled a fresh team dedicated to crafting a ChatGPT-like application, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The newly-formed Answers, Knowledge, and Information team at Apple is on a mission to develop an “answer engine” capable of providing responses to queries using data sourced from the internet. This innovation could manifest as a standalone app or enhance search functionalities within Siri, Safari, and various Apple devices.
According to Gurman’s insights, Apple is actively seeking individuals with expertise in search algorithms and engine development to join this team. Despite ChatGPT integration into Siri, the anticipated AI-driven update to the voice assistant has encountered delays. Furthermore, Apple may need to revisit its search agreement with Google following the latter’s recent antitrust setback.
