Adversarial DNS techniques on the rise
The importance of securing DNS transactions has been emphasized in the recent release of Infoblox’s 2025 DNS Threat Landscape Report. The report revealed a staggering 100.8 million newly observed domains, with more than 25% classified as malicious or suspicious.
Threat actors have been actively registering, activating, and deploying new domains over the past year, often in large quantities through automated processes. This tactic allows them to evade traditional security measures that rely on a reactive approach to threat detection, as explained by Dr. Renée Burton, head of Infoblox Threat Intel.
As attackers continue to leverage new infrastructure, organizations are increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats.
