Citizen Health Secures $30M in Series A Funding
Citizen Health, a San Francisco-based company specializing in rare disease care, has recently raised $30 million in Series A funding. This funding round was led by 8VC, with participation from Transformation Capital and Headline, bringing the total funding raised by the company to $44 million since its launch in December 2023.
The company plans to use this new capital to expand its operations and further its research and development efforts. Citizen Health, founded by Farid Vij and Nasha Fitter, offers a patient-powered platform that combines AI, community support, and longitudinal data to empower patients to take control of their care and contribute to valuable research in healthcare.
With a focus on rare diseases, Citizen Health’s innovative approach aligns with recent calls from the FDA for new solutions in this area. The company aims to address challenges brought on by changes in NIH funding and regulatory uncertainty, positioning itself as a key player in advancing rare disease care and research.
