SonicWall has introduced its Generation 8 firewall portfolio, featuring the NSa 4800 and NSa 5800 models. The NSa 4800 offers 24x1GbE ports, 8x10G SFP+ ports, 20 Gbps firewall throughput, and 13 Gbps threat prevention. On the other hand, the NSa 5800 comes with similar port configurations but boasts higher performance with 30 Gbps firewall throughput and 24 Gbps threat prevention.
One of the key highlights of the Generation 8 portfolio is the inclusion of multi-gigabit connectivity, catering to the increasing market demand for high-speed connections. Even entry-level models like the TZ680 now support 2.5G and 5G speeds, while the NSa 5800 can deliver up to 24 Gbps threat prevention throughput. SonicWall’s focus on multi-gigabit support reflects the evolving needs of organizations requiring faster and more robust network capabilities.
In addition to hardware upgrades, SonicWall has introduced a Unified Management Platform that shifts from device-centric to ecosystem-wide management. This platform offers centralized control across the entire SonicWall portfolio, emphasizing cloud-based SaaS deployment and on-premises installations for air-gapped networks. With feature parity between cloud and on-premises versions, SonicWall ensures seamless management and visibility of its ecosystem technologies for enhanced security and performance.
