EdgeConneX and Lambda Collaborate on 30MW AI Data Centers in Chicago and Atlanta

EdgeConneX and Lambda have announced a strategic partnership to develop cutting-edge AI-enabled data center infrastructure in Chicago and Atlanta, totaling over 30 Megawatts. The collaboration aims to cater to the increasing demand for high-density AI computing capabilities in these key locations.

EdgeConneX and Lambda unveiled a collaboration to construct cutting-edge AI-enabled data center infrastructure in Chicago and Atlanta, totaling over 30 Megawatts. 

The upcoming 23MW single-tenant data center in Chicago will leverage advanced hybrid cooling technologies to support AI and cloud workloads, with a planned launch in 2026. 

AI technology leader Lambda has set ambitious goals to deploy more than a million GPUs by the end of the decade as part of its 2GW+ vision. EdgeConneX’s Ingenuity solution is designed to accommodate high-performance computing (HPC) and AI workloads with densities exceeding 600+kW per rack. 

EdgeConneX’s innovative hybrid cooling design integrates liquid-to-the-chip and air cooling systems, optimizing energy efficiency for next-generation AI accelerators. 

Don MacNeil, Chief Revenue Officer for EdgeConneX, emphasized the partnership’s focus on delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions tailored for the AI era. He highlighted the unmatched density and flexibility provided by Ingenuity’s next-generation AI-ready data center solutions and liquid cooling capabilities, empowering Lambda to lead in AI innovation and propel the future of AI-driven technologies. 

The collaboration underscores Lambda’s commitment to scalable, future-proof AI infrastructure and EdgeConneX’s dedication to sustainable data center solutions. 

Lambda has also joined forces with Aligned Data Centers to introduce a liquid-cooled AI data center in Dallas.
