After a long wait, Samsung is finally releasing its latest Android 16-based interface, One UI 8. This update was initially launched with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 on July 25, nearly two months ago.
Following several beta versions of One UI 8 for older Samsung devices, the full update is now available.
Samsung Makes One UI 8 Available
Samsung has provided details on the official rollout of One UI 8 through a blog post.
Commencing this week, the new UI will offer “advanced multimodal AI capabilities, a UX optimized for different device form factors, and personalized, proactive suggestions to enhance everyday life.”
Although not all devices will receive the update immediately, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be the first to get the One UI 8 update this week, with other models set to follow later in the year.

Minor Tweaks
Our evaluation of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 revealed that One UI 8 did not bring significant changes. It mostly “looks and functions the same as One UI 7.”
Samsung highlights some enhancements, such as a more capable Now Bar with improved third-party app integration, a personalized Now Brief tool, and a secure Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) system.
One UI 8 is better suited for foldable devices, particularly the larger internal screen of the Galaxy Z Fold. Additionally, the Audio Eraser feature eliminates unwanted background noise.
Overall, it’s a subtle update, prompting the question of why it took so long to reach other Samsung phones.
