Summary:
1. Cologix has acquired TOR4 and TOR5 data centers in Toronto to strengthen its position in the Canadian data center market.
2. The acquisitions highlight Cologix’s commitment to Toronto and Canada, providing more control, scale, and performance for hyperscalers and enterprises.
3. With a total of 22 data centers across Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver, Cologix is a significant player in the Canadian digital infrastructure market, connecting over 350 networks and more than 200 cloud providers.

Article:

Cologix has recently made strategic moves to solidify its presence in the Canadian data center market by acquiring two key facilities in Toronto. The Denver-based colocation and interconnection provider has taken full ownership of TOR4, a hyperscale data center in Markham, Ontario, by purchasing CIM Group’s stake in the asset. Additionally, Cologix has acquired TOR5, another CIM Group property located in Markham’s technology corridor. These acquisitions bring a total of 14 megawatts of power capacity and over 90,000 square feet of space to the Toronto market.

Laura Ortman, Cologix’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the company’s long-term commitment to Toronto and Canada through these transactions. By gaining full ownership of TOR4 and adding TOR5 to its portfolio, Cologix aims to deliver more control, scale, and performance for hyperscalers, enterprises, and service providers. These strategic moves further solidify Toronto’s role as a hub for AI inference ecosystems.

Cologix’s focus on the Canadian market has been evident over the past decade, with the company now operating 22 data centers across MontrĂ©al, Toronto, and Vancouver. Offering more than one million square feet of space and 94 megawatts of capacity, Cologix’s interconnection ecosystem connects over 350 networks and more than 200 cloud providers, including direct onramps to major platforms like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

The consolidation of ownership of TOR4 and the addition of TOR5 to Cologix’s portfolio reflect the company’s confidence in the continued demand for colocation and interconnection services in Toronto. As hyperscalers and enterprises increasingly seek low-latency infrastructure to support AI and cloud workloads, Cologix’s expanded presence positions it well to capture a growing share of investment in Canada’s digital economy.
