Google recently unveiled its plans to introduce Gemini AI assistant to Nest smart home devices, including speakers, displays, doorbells, and more. If you’re eager to get your hands on this new feature, here’s a guide on how to sign up for early access.
The rollout of Gemini on Nest devices comes as no surprise, as Google has been gradually replacing Google Assistant across various platforms, including phones and smartwatches. The company has confirmed that Gemini will be available on all smart devices manufactured in the last ten years, encompassing a wide range of products such as cameras, Google Home app, and the upcoming Google Home Speaker set to launch in Spring 2026.
While there isn’t a specific launch date for Gemini for Home, interested users can already register for early access to ensure they are among the first to experience it. The rollout of this program is scheduled to commence this month for selected devices.
“Gemini for Home will be accessible through an early access program, allowing users to explore the new features and provide feedback to enhance the overall experience,” stated Google.
Here’s a quick and simple guide to signing up for early access:
- Open the Google Home app, ensuring it is version 4.0+
- Tap the Settings cog at the bottom
- Scroll down and tap Early access
- Now tap Sign up
- You’ll receive notifications once Gemini for Home is available
