Zelda Williams, the daughter of the beloved late actor Robin Williams, shares a heartfelt message with her father’s fans.

Williams recently took to her Instagram story to express her feelings about AI-generated videos of her father, urging people to stop sending them to her. She made it clear that she has no interest in watching these videos and believes it goes against what her father would have wanted.

Her message comes in the wake of the release of OpenAI’s Sora 2 video model and social app, which allows users to create highly realistic deepfakes of themselves and others, including deceased individuals.

While Sora restricts the creation of videos featuring living individuals to those who have given permission, it allows for the generation of deepfakes of deceased individuals without any obstacles. This has led to an influx of videos featuring historical figures and late celebrities, including Robin Williams.

Concerns have been raised about the ethical implications of using AI to create deepfakes of deceased individuals, with critics questioning where the line should be drawn. OpenAI’s response to these concerns remains ambiguous, leaving many to wonder about the implications of such technology.

As the debate around deepfakes intensifies, OpenAI faces scrutiny for its approach to regulating the use of its technology. The company’s response to copyright concerns and ethical considerations will likely shape the future of AI-generated content.
