    Anirban Kundu, CTO at Instacart, highlights the significance of leveraging technology capable of interpreting highly local and fluctuating inventory data to power shopping experiences within AI agents. Instacart’s massive dataset, covering billions of product instances across thousands of stores, serves as a foundation for grounding AI responses in real-time accuracy.

    In addition to enhancing the customer-facing experience, Instacart is also leveraging AI internally to streamline workflows and drive R&D efficiency. By adopting a dual approach – using AI for selling (Agentic Commerce) and building (Codex) – Instacart sets a model for operational excellence that transcends isolated pilots.
