BCS Consultancy Appoints Chris Coward as Chief Operating Officer to Drive Data Centre Market Growth
BCS Consultancy has announced the appointment of Chris Coward as its new Chief Operating Officer, signaling a strategic move to propel the business into the next phase of growth within the data centre market.
The London-based consultancy has entrusted Coward with the task of enhancing operational efficiency as BCS expands its presence in key markets across EMEA and beyond. This expansion comes at a time when the demand for scalable and sustainable data centre capacity is rising due to the proliferation of AI workloads and the overall growth of digital infrastructure.
Following the departure of Scott Shearer, one of BCS’ co-founders, after a decade-long tenure with the company, Coward steps into the role after joining BCS in 2017 as one of its early employees. Over the past eight years, he has played a pivotal role in developing the company’s project management capabilities and facilitating its evolution from a UK-centric operation to a globally-focused consultancy.
With a workforce now exceeding 165 specialists spread across five offices worldwide, BCS boasts involvement in over 300 projects, advised on investments totaling more than £20 billion, and generated annual revenue surpassing £22 million. Coward expressed his gratitude towards the outgoing leaders, James and Scott, for their mentorship and influence on his career and the organizational culture at BCS.
Coward’s responsibilities will extend beyond operational enhancement to include the acceleration of digital integration, maintenance of service consistency across regions, and the fortification of BCS’ reputation as a people-centric, customer-focused business with a strong technical foundation in data centre expertise.
Moreover, Coward’s involvement in shaping BCS’ talent strategy, including the establishment of an apprenticeship program, reflects the company’s proactive approach to addressing skills shortages and recruitment challenges prevalent in the data centre industry. As BCS embarks on its global expansion journey, Coward’s leadership aims to uphold the company’s ethos while ensuring optimal support for clients and employees alike.
