While rivals such as Samsung have launch offers including double the discount, and the likes of Xiaomi shower buyers with free gifts such as chargers, Google tends to adopt a simpler approach to its phone releases.
However, with the Pixel 10a looking to be one of the most incremental upgrades in recent memory for a high-profile smartphone, the Android creator will need a bit extra to lure potential customers in.
In addition to a good trade-in bonus, which is Google’s typical offer, I think Google should be handing out free pairs of Pixel Buds 2a.

New colours aside and the camera bump (which was already tiny) going, faster wired charging at 45W might be the only significant enhancement from the Pixel 9a.
That phone will remain on sale at a lower price and, with Google’s long software support, it makes the 9a an even better value mid-range phone and the new model a much harder sell.
The Pixel Buds 2a retail for £129/$129 and are some of the best affordable wireless earbuds around, with an excellent combination of comfort, sound quality, battery life and features including active noise cancelling.
This would really sweeten the deal. Plus, the Pixel Buds 2a are rumoured to launch in two new colours – Berry and Fog – which match two of the Pixel 10a colours for additional synergy.
