In a recent announcement, Vertiv has revealed plans to significantly expand its manufacturing operations in Derry and County Donegal, creating hundreds of new jobs in the process. The company aims to bolster its electrical switchgear manufacturing capabilities to meet the increasing demand for power infrastructure as data centers expand to support the rise of digital services and AI technology.
The new roles will be spread across three Vertiv manufacturing sites in the region, offering opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and other support functions. The emphasis will be on hands-on production roles, with a focus on hiring electricians, panel wirers, mechanical fitters, and general operators. Vertiv’s President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Paul Ryan, expressed confidence in the skilled workforce and business environment of the Northwest region.
With competitive pay and enhanced benefits, Vertiv’s recruitment drive will contribute to its existing workforce of over 2,000 employees in Ireland. The expansion of manufacturing facilities in Derry and County Donegal is expected to increase Vertiv’s capacity to deliver critical digital infrastructure efficiently, supporting the company’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of customers worldwide.
