HPE Aruba has enhanced the integration between HPE Aruba Networking Central and HPE OpsRamp, a technology acquired by HPE in 2023 to manage hybrid and multicloud environments. OpsRamp now has the capability to monitor various third-party devices like switches, access points, firewalls, and routers from vendors such as Cisco, Arista, and Juniper Networks. Additionally, HPE Aruba Networking Central has introduced new features for application profiling, classification, and risk assessment, enabling enterprises to establish application access policies based on their risk preferences.

The EdgeConnect SD-WAN appliances by HPE Aruba are now equipped with distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection. Leveraging machine learning-based behavioral analytics, the appliances can detect anomalies indicating a potential DDoS attack. In the event of an attack, various remediation options are available within the SD-WAN appliance, including reducing bandwidth for the affected connection or blocking it entirely. This proactive approach aims to enhance network security by integrating intelligent self-defense mechanisms at the network edge.

Furthermore, HPE Aruba has integrated its zero-trust-based Private Edge solution into the EdgeConnect SD-WAN, which can be activated with an HPE Aruba Networking SSE ZTNA license at no additional cost or setup requirements. With ZTNA Private Edge, organizations can implement zero-trust policies locally, ensuring secure access to resources in line with their cloud-defined policies.

In addition to these updates, HPE Aruba has introduced high-availability mesh support in its SSE offering. The mesh connectivity feature routes traffic through the most efficient path possible, providing secure data paths and automatic failure handling to minimize downtime and securely connect devices without the need for intervention from IT departments.

On the cloud security front, HPE Aruba has enhanced its HPE GreenLake capabilities by introducing a digital circuit breaker or “kill switch” in the HPE Private Cloud Enterprise managed package. This feature allows organizations to temporarily disconnect from the public internet in the event of network threats, isolating critical data, operations, and infrastructure for enhanced security.

Overall, these updates from HPE Aruba demonstrate a commitment to enhancing network security, improving application access control, and providing seamless connectivity solutions for enterprises in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
