Anthropic recently introduced a new feature called ‘Integrations’ for their AI assistant Claude, which allows it to communicate directly with various popular work tools. Additionally, they have enhanced the ‘Advanced Research’ feature to provide users with even deeper insights.

The Integrations feature is an improvement on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that Anthropic released last year, making it more user-friendly. Previously, setting up connections was a bit technical and limited to local use. With the new feature, developers can create secure connections that allow Claude to interact with apps both online and on desktop platforms.

This new capability enables users to connect Claude with a range of work software. Initially, the feature supports popular tools such as Jira, Confluence, Zapier, Cloudflare, Intercom, Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, and Plaid, with plans to add Stripe and GitLab in the near future. By integrating Claude with these tools, users can provide context to the AI, allowing it to better understand their work processes.

The advantage of integrating Claude with these tools is the ability to provide deep context about projects, task statuses, and organizational knowledge. This allows Claude to assist users in executing complex projects efficiently by leveraging its expertise and insights.

For instance, connecting Claude with Zapier opens up a world of possibilities, enabling users to trigger complex sequences of actions across multiple apps seamlessly. Similarly, integrating Claude with Jira and Confluence can streamline tasks such as drafting product specifications, summarizing lengthy documents, or creating batches of linked tickets.

Furthermore, integrating Claude with customer communication tools like Intercom can significantly improve customer support processes. By working in conjunction with Intercom’s AI assistant, Fin, Claude can automate tasks such as creating bug reports or analyzing chat histories to identify patterns and provide valuable insights for issue resolution.

In addition to the Integrations feature, Anthropic has also enhanced Claude’s Research capabilities with the introduction of ‘Advanced Research’ mode. This mode allows users to delve deeper into complex topics by breaking down requests into smaller segments, conducting thorough investigations across various sources, and compiling detailed reports.

Although the Advanced Research mode may take longer to generate reports, the quality and accuracy of the information provided by Claude are ensured. Users can trace back the information to its original sources, giving them full transparency and confidence in the AI’s findings.

These new features and integrations are currently available in beta for users on Anthropic’s paid Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, with plans to roll them out to Pro plan users soon. Additionally, the standard web search feature in Claude is now accessible to all paid users, eliminating geographical restrictions.

These updates demonstrate Anthropic’s commitment to enhancing Claude’s functionality and usefulness in professional settings. By enabling seamless integration with existing tools and empowering Claude with advanced research capabilities, Anthropic is positioning Claude as an indispensable tool in the modern workspace.
