Recent acquisitions have propelled SonicWall’s expansion in the cybersecurity realm. With Solutions Granted acquired in November 2023 and Banyan Security in January 2024, the company has enhanced its managed security services and introduced cloud-native Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) capabilities, ensuring every firewall now boasts cloud-native features.
Managed Protection Service Suite offers co-managed services
A significant focus of SonicWall’s latest updates is the Managed Protection Service Suite (MPSS), specifically tailored to tackle firewall configuration and management challenges.
SonicWall’s President and CEO highlighted the prevalent issue of misconfigured firewalls, stating, “An extremely high number of firewalls just simply aren’t configured correctly.” The MPSS aims to rectify this problem by providing ongoing monitoring and regular reporting to ensure optimal security. Organizations receive detailed reports that outline security posture changes and recommendations for enhancement. This monthly health check assigns a grade to the security status, offering clarity on vulnerabilities.
The co-managed service approach is designed to complement Managed Service Providers (MSPs) rather than compete with them. SonicWall emphasizes the importance of collaboration with partners to deliver effective security solutions.
Cloud-native platform integrated with AI
In line with its updates, SonicWall has revamped its management platform with a cloud-native architecture and integrated artificial intelligence capabilities, enhancing efficiency and security measures.
