Former Meta and Time Warner executive, Mark D’Arcy, has joined Microsoft as a corporate vice president focusing on the company’s consumer AI products. Reporting to Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, D’Arcy brings over a decade of experience in creative and marketing leadership roles from his time at Meta and Time Warner.
His new role at Microsoft involves working with engineering, design, and advertising teams to enhance the marketing strategy for Microsoft’s generative AI Copilot assistant. This AI assistant, embedded within applications like Word and Bing, competes with chatbots from companies such as OpenAI, Meta, Google, and Anthropic. D’Arcy’s expertise will be instrumental in further developing Copilot’s capabilities, such as the recent personalized memory feature introduced by Microsoft.
In addition to D’Arcy’s appointment, other key personnel changes in the tech industry include Prakash Panjwani transitioning to a board and advisory role at WatchGuard Technologies, Nader Kabbani becoming the chief operations officer at Hims & Hers, and Parisa Sadrzadeh taking on a vice president role at DoorDash after her tenure at Amazon. These shifts in leadership across various companies highlight the dynamic nature of the tech industry and the strategic moves being made by key players to drive innovation and growth.
