    In a groundbreaking move, Castrol has thrown its support behind the launch of a pioneering proof-of-concept for immersion-cooled data centers in Italy by MGH Systems/Dacta, a leading provider of advanced data center solutions. This project, made possible by Castrol’s immersion cooling fluids and thermal expertise, is a significant step forward in enhancing the efficiency of data center operations and promoting the growth of liquid cooling technology in Italy.

    The collaboration between Castrol, Submer (tank provider), and Compal (server provider) aims to demonstrate the potential of immersion cooling in meeting the increasing demands of the data center industry. Peter Huang, Global Vice President of Data Center Thermal Management at Castrol, emphasized the importance of innovation in the booming Italian data center market, which is expected to see a doubling of investments to 10 billion euros in the coming years.

    Based in Vimercate, a key location in Italy’s data center industry, the project will utilize Castrol ON’s Immersion Cooling Fluid DC 20, a cutting-edge dielectric coolant designed to enhance thermal management performance in data centers. Marco Brivio, MGH Systems Founder, highlighted the significance of this deployment in positioning Italy at the forefront of data center innovation and supporting the evolution of IT technologies towards High Performance Computing and AI.

    Franco Caroli, Southern Europe & Africa Sales Director at Submer, emphasized the strategic collaboration between industry leaders in redefining efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in digital infrastructure. The partnership between Castrol, Submer, and Compal is set to establish a new standard for data center operations in Italy, showcasing the potential for future growth and scalability in the region.
