1623 Farnam, an edge interconnection and data center operator in the Midwest, recently completed a significant expansion in Omaha. The expansion added 1.5MW of IT capacity and 280 cabinet-ready positions to meet the growing demand for edge deployments in the region.

The expansion includes the final two data halls, now ready for customer move-ins, and supports growth in cloud, AI, content, and broadband markets.

The project was expedited to meet the rising demand for high-performance interconnection and low-latency digital services.

1623 Farnam plays a pivotal role as an interconnection hub in the Midwest, catering to a diverse ecosystem of cloud, content, carriers, and enterprise clients. The additional capacity aims to attract new players in network, content, and broadband sectors, enhancing the ecosystem and benefiting existing tenants.

Bill Severn, President, and CEO of 1623 Farnam, stated, “We continue to invest in our cutting-edge facility, creating additional capacity to accommodate ecosystem-rich clients, fostering growth and value for all occupants.”

Strategically positioned to address latency challenges, the facility is crucial for AI workloads and edge computing. With access to 50 network companies, 1623 Farnam ensures high availability and performance for mission-critical infrastructure.

Nebraska’s tech and population growth further solidify the value of 1623 Farnam’s central location in the Midwest.
