A new spiritual successor to the iconic BlackBerry smartphone has entered the market with the introduction of the Titan 2.

Recent trends in the mobile industry have seen a resurgence of keyboard-equipped smartphones, sparking interest in a potential BlackBerry revival. Unihertz, a Chinese company known for producing compact Android devices, has unveiled the Titan 2, drawing inspiration from the classic BlackBerry Passport released in 2014.

Despite its niche appeal, the Titan 2 has garnered significant attention through a successful Kickstarter campaign. Surpassing its initial funding goal by a large margin, the project has received overwhelming support from backers.

Titan 2 specs

Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chipset, the Titan 2 offers a combination of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage capacity. With dimensions of 137.8 x 88.7 x 10.8mm and weighing 235g, the phone boasts a 5,050mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

Featuring a physical QWERTY keyboard with customizable shortcuts, the Titan 2 emphasizes productivity. The device sports a square 4.5-inch display with an additional 2-inch screen on the back for notifications and selfie previews. The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 32MP front camera.

Connectivity options on the Titan 2 include 5G support, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual-band GPS, an IR emitter, and an FM radio. The phone also offers a fingerprint sensor, programmable buttons, and runs on Android 15.

Titan 2 pricing and availability

Expected to enter mass production in September and ship in October, the Titan 2 is priced around $399. Early backers can secure a discounted pre-order at $269, making it an attractive option for fans of physical keyboards.
