HPE and Juniper Networks Settle with U.S. Department of Justice

In a recent press release, HPE announced that they have reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice regarding their acquisition of Juniper Networks. As part of the settlement, HPE will provide limited access to Juniper’s Mist AIOps technology.

The settlement also mandates that HPE divest its Instant On business, which is targeted towards small and medium-sized businesses. This includes the global Instant On campus and branch WLAN business, with all assets, intellectual property, and customer relationships being transferred to a DOJ-approved buyer within 180 days. Additionally, the merged firm must license critical Juniper software to independent competitors to promote competition in the networking market.

Both HPE and Juniper Networks are positive about the settlement and the potential benefits it will bring to customers. HPE CEO Antonio Neri expressed his excitement about the deal, stating that it will provide customers with a comprehensive portfolio of secure, AI-native networking solutions. Juniper Networks CEO Rami Rahim echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of delivering modern, secure networking solutions for enterprise, service provider, and cloud customers.

Overall, the settlement between HPE and Juniper Networks marks a significant step forward in the networking market, with the potential to enhance competition and provide customers with innovative solutions for their networking needs.
