Hurricane Electric recently installed a new Point of Presence (PoP) at the Quad State Internet PAH1 data center located at 1212 Helen St., Paducah, KY 42001, USA. This move aims to provide better connectivity and access to the internet for over 15 million end consumers within a 225-mile radius, including major markets like St. Louis, MO, Indianapolis, IN, Chicago, IL, and Nashville, TN.

The new PoP in Kentucky marks Hurricane Electric’s commitment to enhancing IP connectivity services for businesses in the Paducah area. With offerings like colocation, wavelength access, and dark fiber, companies and organizations can benefit from improved fault tolerance, load balancing, and congestion control. President Mike Leber expressed excitement about expanding access in Kentucky and the Southeast, highlighting the enhanced infrastructure that will strengthen connections to Hurricane Electric’s global network.

Customers at the Quad State Internet PAH1 facility can now enjoy access to Hurricane Electric’s vast IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE, 10GE, and GigE ports. This allows for seamless exchange of IP traffic with Hurricane Electric’s extensive worldwide network, which boasts thousands of customer and private peering ports, over 310 major exchange points, and over 40,000 BGP sessions with over 10,000 different networks. As the largest IPv6 backbone globally, Hurricane Electric’s resilient fiber-optic topology and high-speed connectivity options make it a reliable choice for businesses seeking advanced networking solutions.
