Article:
Yondr Group, a prominent developer of hyperscale data centers, has recently been acquired by DigitalBridge Group and La Caisse from Cathexis Holdings. This strategic move reflects the increasing demand for large-scale and AI-optimized digital infrastructure, highlighting a strong partnership between DigitalBridge and La Caisse in high-growth digital asset sectors.

With this acquisition, Yondr is well-positioned to meet the growing need for high-capacity, AI-ready data center solutions worldwide. La Caisse’s joint ownership of Yondr, alongside funds managed by DigitalBridge, demonstrates a commitment to expanding Yondr’s capabilities in the hyperscale computing space.

As part of the transition, Yondr has introduced new leadership appointments. Aaron Wangenheim, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data center development, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Joining him is Sandip Mahajan, a veteran in financial strategy and infrastructure operations, as the Chief Financial Officer. These appointments signal a strategic focus on scaling Yondr’s offerings to cater to the global demand for hyperscale computing and advanced digital transformation.

Yondr currently manages over 420MW of hyperscale capacity, with the potential for expansion exceeding 1GW. This positions Yondr to serve the evolving compute needs of large technology companies, playing a pivotal role in the expansion of cloud computing, AI processing, and next-generation workloads.

DigitalBridge’s Senior Managing Director, Jon Mauck, emphasized that the acquisition enhances their portfolio of top-tier data center assets, aligning with their strategy to support hyperscale and AI firms globally. The addition of Yondr’s international campuses and operational expertise adds significant value to their digital infrastructure vision, reinforcing their partnership with La Caisse.

The transaction builds on the longstanding relationship between the two investment firms, with previous collaborations in the digital ecosystem. La Caisse’s Executive Vice President, Emmanuel Jaclot, views Yondr as a compelling platform for scaling digital infrastructure capacity globally, showcasing confidence in Yondr’s ability to innovate and deliver advanced data solutions efficiently.

The acquisition of Yondr marks a significant milestone in the consolidation of digital infrastructure providers catering to the booming hyperscale and AI markets. The newly appointed CEO, Aaron Wangenheim, and CFO, Sandip Mahajan, bring a wealth of experience to steer Yondr through a period of rapid expansion, supported by world-class investors. This strategic move sets the stage for Yondr to enhance its capabilities and support clients in scaling their operations through AI and cloud infrastructure.
