These capabilities make touch-screen devices versatile and powerful, supporting a wide range of use cases. The transition from pressure-activated screens to more responsive projected capacitive touch screens has further boosted adoption rates and improved durability.

In industrial settings, touch screens are revolutionizing operations by providing a customizable and interactive interface that adapts to the context and user. Paul Miller, vice president and principal analyst for smart manufacturing at Forrester, attributes the rising adoption of touch screens to the increased interoperability of digital transformation solutions, closer collaboration between IT and operational technology teams, and the availability of rugged, reliable, and cost-effective displays. Touch screens allow industrial organizations to monitor key performance metrics, track machine performance, and replace traditional control systems with more intuitive touch-based interfaces.

Warehouse and logistics firms are leveraging touch screens for inventory management, order processing, and navigation, while healthcare organizations are using these devices for patient check-ins, medical updates, and data entry. Touch screens are also finding applications in corporate offices for HVAC and elevator control, visitor management, and enhancing collaboration in conference rooms.
