In a recent announcement, global infrastructure provider Aligned Data Centers revealed plans to construct a new mega-scale data center campus in Ohio, showcasing a significant investment in AI infrastructure and regional economic growth. The company has secured a 197-acre site near the retired AEP Conesville Power Plant within the Conesville Industrial Park, marking its third data center campus in the state.
This multi-billion dollar project is set to transform the former brownfield site into a cutting-edge economic hub in Coshocton County, driving the revitalization of the area. The development is expected to create numerous construction jobs and long-term operational positions, benefiting both the local workforce and the state’s digital economy.
Aligned’s CEO, Andrew Schaap, highlighted the strategic significance of the expansion in meeting the increasing demand from hyperscale, AI/HPC, and enterprise clients worldwide. The new campus is slated to commence initial capacity delivery in mid-2026, with a major client already onboard for the first facility. Aligned’s commitment to local engagement includes supporting educational and environmental initiatives in collaboration with community stakeholders, showcasing a holistic approach to sustainable regional development.
