An innovative AI company called Articul8, which emerged from Intel in early 2024, has successfully raised over half of its targeted $70 million funding round at a pre-money valuation of $500 million. The company aims to meet the increasing demand for AI solutions in regulated industries, as stated by its CEO.
The Series B funding round is divided into two parts, with the initial portion led by Adara Ventures from Spain, according to Arun K. Subramaniyan, the founder, and CEO of Articul8. The exact amount of the first installment was not disclosed, but the company anticipates completing the round within the first quarter of the current year.
Articul8’s valuation for this funding round represents a significant increase from its post-money Series A valuation earlier in 2024. The company has now secured over $90 million in total contract value from various paying customers, including notable names like Hitachi Energy, AWS, Franklin Templeton, and Intel.
Subramaniyan mentioned to TechCrunch that Articul8 is in a strong financial position, with substantial revenue generated from major enterprise contracts. He emphasized that the company is not in urgent need of capital.
By the end of the year, Articul8 anticipates achieving an annual recurring revenue exceeding $57 million, with a significant portion already realized. The company specializes in developing AI systems tailored to specific business functions, particularly in regulated sectors such as energy, manufacturing, aerospace, financial services, and semiconductors.

Subramaniyan stated, “Our competition is diverse, but currently, cloud service providers pose a significant challenge due to the commoditization of their general-purpose offerings.” Articul8’s focus on specialized systems appeals to customers seeking reliable outcomes and transparent audit trails, which are more challenging to achieve with generic models on shared cloud platforms.
The primary use of the Series B funding will be to enhance research and product development and expand international operations, especially in Europe and parts of Asia.
Adara Ventures’ involvement will accelerate the European expansion plan, supported by the European Investment Fund’s backing of the Madrid-based VC firm’s energy fund. Articul8 also aims to grow in markets like Japan and South Korea, where collaborations with major enterprise clients have already begun.
Participation from India’s Aditya Birla Ventures has been confirmed in the ongoing funding round, Subramaniyan noted.
Articul8 collaborates with prominent tech companies such as Nvidia and Google Cloud, with Amazon Web Services serving as both a customer and a partner for specific deployments. The company has a workforce of 75 employees, with a strong focus on R&D and operations across the U.S., Brazil, and India.
