Pokee AI, established by a former Meta manager with a Stanford Ph.D., is on a mission to develop a versatile AI agent capable of planning, reasoning, and executing tasks across various internet tools and platforms. This includes tasks like generating marketing videos, formatting presentations, and managing social media posts.
The AI agent arena, particularly companies focusing on AI agents that can perform tasks beyond traditional outputs like text or code, is gaining significant attention from early-stage investors. Pokee stands out by integrating reinforcement learning into its technology, enabling agents to efficiently sequence and utilize tools rather than solely relying on large language models.
According to the company, their technology boasts an impressive “over 97% accuracy when selecting from thousands of tools,” bypassing the limitations of function-calling via LLMs by leveraging a custom-built AI agent for planning.
CEO Zheqing (Bill) Zhu emphasized the company’s focus on solving the execution problem in the AI world, particularly in areas like social media marketing, where the agent can create content, enhance media, post across platforms, and track engagement. Although Pokee is not yet generating revenue, it has design partners and collaborations with Google on enterprise partnerships.
The platform is currently in public beta, offering integrations with popular web services like Google Workspace, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, and more. As the company expands, it plans to introduce tools tailored for enterprise users.
Zhu, who previously served as the head of applied reinforcement learning at Meta, leads the team of co-founders, including Michael Cai (head of product engineering), Christopher Wu (head of ML engineering), and Yi Wan (founding research scientist).
Pokee AI has secured backing from various investors, including Salience Capital, SCB 10X, Typeface founder Abhay Parasnis, and former Intel board member Lip-bu Tan. With around 10 employees, the company is actively hiring for positions in Bellevue and the Bay Area.
