Schneider Electric has recently unveiled a new consulting service called EcoConsult for Data Centers, which aims to assist data center and IT managers in enhancing operational performance, reducing costs, and aligning infrastructure with sustainability goals. This announcement was made at the Data Center World conference in Washington, DC.
The EcoConsult for Data Centers service is specifically designed to address the increasing demand in the industry for improved uptime, better asset lifecycle management, and reduced total cost of ownership. It involves a thorough evaluation of core infrastructure systems such as power distribution, cooling technologies, and server room architecture. By identifying inefficiencies and potential risks, Schneider Electric offers actionable recommendations for modernization and preventive maintenance.
Jerome Soltani, Senior Vice President of Services at Schneider Electric, highlighted the importance of EcoConsult for Data Centers in tackling infrastructure challenges. He stated, “Maintaining peak uptime while minimizing costs and extending the life of critical infrastructure is crucial in today’s fast-paced digital landscape. EcoConsult for Data Centers provides a comprehensive strategy to help operators overcome aging infrastructure and operational uncertainties.”
With the support of a global network of over 250 consultants, 430 service centers, and 6,500 service professionals, Schneider Electric’s EcoConsult for Data Centers service aims to deliver consistent, high-quality consulting services across various markets. The service utilizes cutting-edge digital tools to enhance cooling efficiency, optimize power design, and strengthen cybersecurity protocols – all crucial aspects for modern IT environments.
Schneider Electric emphasized the timeliness of the launch, as a significant percentage of U.S. data centers (approximately 36%) are over a decade old and lack comprehensive asset management strategies. Without proactive maintenance, these facilities face increasing operational risks and performance limitations. EcoConsult offers a clear roadmap for managers to develop tailored, future-ready strategies that prolong the life of their infrastructure while preparing for evolving technologies and workloads.
