The transaction, which was first announced in October 2024, involved DigitalBridge teaming up with Canadian investment group La Caisse to purchase Yondr from Cathexis Holdings.
Jon Mauck, senior managing director and head of data centers at DigitalBridge, emphasized the significance of Yondr’s diverse global portfolio of campuses in fortifying the company’s data center offerings.
Tapping Into New Markets
Yondr, headquartered in Amsterdam with a strong presence in the UK, operates data centers across 11 locations worldwide.
The company’s commitment to hyperscalers includes over 420 MW of capacity with potential for expansion to over 1 GW, supported by ample land resources.
In addition to their presence in Slough near London, Yondr has embarked on ambitious projects such as the development of a 40 MW data center in Bischofsheim, Germany.
The group has also commenced construction on a 27 MW data center in Toronto as part of their global expansion strategy.
Reports indicate Yondr’s interest in securing funding for a substantial project in Malaysia amounting to $500 million.
New Appointments
Following the acquisition, Aaron Wangenheim has assumed the role of chief executive officer, while Sandip Mahajan has been appointed chief financial officer at Yondr within DigitalBridge’s corporate structure.
The financial specifics of the deal have not been disclosed publicly, underscoring the confidential nature of the transaction.
