Revolutionizing Aviation with EL9 Ultra Short Aircraft
Under the leadership of CEO Marc Allen, Electra is at the forefront of developing hybrid-electric Ultra Short aircraft that revolutionize air travel for both passengers and cargo. The EL9 Ultra Short aircraft combines blown lift technology with hybrid-electric propulsion, providing the versatility of a helicopter for takeoffs and landings, the quiet operation of an electric vehicle, and the cost efficiency and safety of a fixed-wing, fixed-propeller aircraft.
This innovative aircraft can carry up to 9 passengers or 3,000 pounds of cargo, with a range of up to 1,100 nautical miles. Its in-flight battery recharging feature eliminates the need for ground charging stations, making it a sustainable and efficient mode of transportation.
Applications Across Various Sectors
The EL9 Ultra Short aircraft opens up new possibilities for commercial and defense operators alike. Commercially, it enables operators to connect underserved communities, operate in noise-restricted airports, enhance cargo services, and reduce travel time for passengers. On the defense front, the EL9 introduces advanced logistics and troop transport capabilities, offering the flexibility to operate in remote areas with minimal footprint.
Notable customers of Electra include NASA, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Navy, with over 2,200 aircraft under Letters of Intent from 50+ commercial customers. The company has experienced significant growth, currently employing approximately 80 professionals.
