Atos, a leading IT services company, has revealed its strategy to establish three UK centres dedicated to providing sovereign IT and AI services to meet the growing demand for UK-based solutions. These centres aim to offer tailored, resilient services that can adapt to changing regulations, geopolitical factors, and specific operational requirements, with a focus on the public sector, defense, and critical national infrastructure.
The three planned hubs include a Sovereign Orchestration Hub, a Digital Agentic Centre, and a Sovereign Digital Enablement Centre. The Orchestration Hub will offer cloud-on-site solutions, AI-assisted digital workplace services, device lifecycle services, and network and security operations functions. The Digital Agentic Centre will host and manage sovereign AI capabilities to enhance application services and automation. The Sovereign Digital Enablement Centre will accelerate secure build, test, and assurance for defense and critical national infrastructure use cases.
In addition to the hub launch, Atos plans to ramp up hiring of graduates and apprentices, offering career paths focused on AI and technology. New recruits will receive hands-on training in AI, cloud, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital services, with the first group of early-career employees set to join the centres in 2026. Atos aims to empower the next generation of tech talent in the UK and ensure clients have access to cutting-edge IT solutions for future regulatory and geopolitical challenges.
