Apple unveiled the latest macOS Tahoe at the WWDC conference, introducing a host of new features centered around Apple Intelligence, enhanced continuity with iPhone devices, and an upgraded Spotlight search function.
The new design concept for macOS Tahoe, dubbed “Liquid Glass,” brings a sleek and customizable look to the operating system. Users can now personalize their folder icons with various colors, such as pink, to add a touch of individuality. The design refresh follows the style of iOS 26, featuring a reflective and transparent appearance reminiscent of real glass. Beyond the aesthetic enhancements, the update incorporates Apple Intelligence to enhance the overall user experience.
macOS Tahoe integrates more closely with iPhones, displaying Live Activities from iOS on the Mac interface. This includes notifications like Dynamic Island that provide real-time updates, such as the status of an Uber Eats delivery. With Continuity features, Mac devices now have access to a Phone app for the first time, offering features like Call Screening and Hold Assist. Live Translation capabilities will also be introduced to the Phone, Messages, and FaceTime applications.
