Cologix, a major player in hyperscale edge data center solutions, has recently acquired DataHiveOne, a prominent network neutral data center services provider based in Calgary, Alberta. This strategic move further enhances Cologix’s position in the Canadian market, expanding its reach and capabilities in the realm of interconnection services.
Cologix, a hyperscale edge data center company, announced the acquisition of DataHiveOne, a leading network neutral data center services provider in Calgary, Alberta.
DataHiveOne is an important interconnection point in Western Canada with more than 30 networks connected to it, including the YYCIX internet exchange.
The deal also solidifies Cologix’s position as one of Canada’s top interconnection providers, adding to the company’s 22 data centers spanning Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver.
“This acquisition is a pivotal step in our continued investment in Canada to meet the growing needs of our customers,” says Laura Ortman, CEO of Cologix. “DataHiveOne is a critical interconnection hub that not only complements our existing footprint but also significantly enhances our ability to support our customers’ digital infrastructure and interconnection needs. It provides them with the dense network access, low latency, and data sovereignty they need, helping us meet the increasing demand for reliable, secure connectivity.”
Cologix expects to grow its regional deployment in Calgary with additional Scalelogix and digital edge deployments to address workloads such as AI and cloud. This expansion strengthens Cologix’s ecosystem comprising 330+ networks, 150+ cloud providers, and leading internet exchanges providing secure, stable connectivity.
The buyout is in line with Cologix’s plan to address growing demand for secure, low latency connections and data sovereignty services in the country.
Cologix raised $1.5B last year to expand AI-ready edge data centers across North America.
