Amazon’s Project Kuiper Welcomes Clint Patterson as Chief Marketing Officer
Clint Patterson, a former executive at T-Mobile, has recently joined Project Kuiper as its new chief marketing officer during a crucial period for Amazon’s broadband internet network.
With over 11 years of experience at T-Mobile, Patterson served as a senior vice president of product marketing before transitioning to lead communications for Office and Office 365 at Microsoft.
Having just completed his first week at Amazon, Patterson’s arrival coincided with the successful launch of the initial full-scale satellites within the Project Kuiper constellation.
“Every week will be like this, right?!?” Patterson humorously remarked on LinkedIn.
Patterson reflected on his time at T-Mobile as “epic,” highlighting his leadership in PR, brand, and social initiatives during the company’s merger with Sprint, ultimately propelling T-Mobile to become “the world’s most highly-valued telco,” according to Patterson.
Project Kuiper represents Amazon’s ambitious endeavor to establish a satellite-based broadband network with the potential to connect millions of individuals globally. Positioned as a competitor to SpaceX’s Starlink network, which already boasts over 7,000 satellites in low Earth orbit and serves more than 5 million users.
