    Article:

Nvidia and Foxconn, in collaboration with the Taiwan government, have announced plans to deepen their partnership by constructing an AI factory supercomputer equipped with state-of-the-art Nvidia Blackwell infrastructure. This initiative aims to provide advanced AI computing resources to researchers, startups, and industries in Taiwan. Foxconn’s subsidiary, Big Innovation Company, will be providing the AI infrastructure as an Nvidia Cloud Partner, featuring 10,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs to significantly expand AI computing availability in Taiwan and drive innovation across various sectors.

The Taiwan National Science and Technology Council will leverage the Big Innovation Company supercomputer to offer AI cloud computing resources to the local technology ecosystem, with a focus on accelerating AI development and adoption. TSMC researchers are expected to benefit from the system’s enhanced performance, allowing them to advance their research and development efforts significantly compared to previous-generation systems.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, emphasized the transformative impact of AI on industries, stating that the partnership with Foxconn and Taiwan will support the country’s AI infrastructure and drive innovation in the age of AI and robotics. Young Liu, chairman and CEO of Foxconn, highlighted the goal of connecting people, government organizations, and enterprises in Taiwan to accelerate innovation and empower industries through the AI factory.

The collaboration also includes TSMC, with chairman and CEO C.C. Wei expressing their commitment to leveraging advanced AI infrastructure to drive innovation in semiconductor technology, benefiting customers and industries worldwide. Minister Wu Cheng-Wen of the National Science and Technology Council shared the vision of creating an AI-focused industrial ecosystem in southern Taiwan, aiming to establish a smart AI island with smart cities in collaboration with Nvidia and Hon Hai.

The Big Innovation Cloud AI factory will feature Nvidia Blackwell Ultra systems, including advanced solutions such as Nvidia GB300 NVL72 rack-scale, Nvidia NVLink, Nvidia Quantum InfiniBand, and Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet networking. By becoming an Nvidia Cloud Partner and participating in the Nvidia DGX Cloud Lepton marketplace, Big Innovation Cloud plans to provide easy access to advanced GPU resources, accelerating AI development and deployment in Taiwan. The AI supercomputer will also support startups and developers through programs like Nvidia Inception and the Nvidia Deep Learning Institute.

Foxconn will utilize the AI supercomputer to drive automation and efficiency across its core pillars, including smart cities, electric vehicles, and manufacturing. The infrastructure will optimize connected transportation systems in smart cities, enhance safety features in smart electric vehicles, and streamline operations in manufacturing through AI-driven analytics and automation. This collaborative effort aims to accelerate growth and innovation in Taiwan’s technology landscape with the power of AI.
