In brief
- YouTube Recap now available
- Reviews your 2025 viewing habits
- No viewing history, no Recap feature
YouTube has introduced a new feature called YouTube Recap, similar to Spotify’s year-end summaries, that provides an overview of your viewing activity for the year. However, not all users will have access to this feature.
Music platforms like Spotify have been offering users an annual recap of their listening preferences, revealing their true musical tastes. YouTube has now extended this concept to its video platform, offering a potentially more revealing look at users’ viewing habits. The official YouTube blog details the new YouTube Recap feature.

Exploring YouTube Recap
Once available in your region, you will find Your Recap on the YouTube homepage or under the You tab on mobile and desktop. The feature analyzes your viewing history, highlighting favorite channels, interests, and personality traits based on your habits.
If you primarily use YouTube for music, the Recap will also showcase your favorite artists, songs, and genres, offering deeper insights into your music preferences.

Unveiling the Catch
There’s a caveat to accessing YouTube Recap. If you have disabled watch history tracking, the feature won’t have data to analyze, resulting in no Recap for you. For users who have allowed YouTube to track their viewing habits, the Recap feature is currently rolling out to North American users and will be available globally soon.
