Gallup Survey: Uncertainty Surrounding AI Adoption in the Workplace
Key Points:
- Nearly a quarter of workers surveyed are unsure if their employer has adopted AI.
- 40% of employees stated that their workplace has not implemented AI.
- Belief in organizational AI adoption increased between 2024 and 2025 as employees were given the option to express uncertainty.
Gallup’s recent data on AI adoption in the workplace reveals a significant level of uncertainty among employees. A substantial number of workers, approximately a quarter of those surveyed, are unsure whether their employer has implemented AI technology. In contrast, just over a third of employees confirmed that their organization had adopted AI, while 40% stated that AI had not been integrated into their workplace.
Interestingly, earlier Gallup surveys did not include a “don’t know” option for questions regarding AI adoption, which led respondents to make assumptions. With the introduction of this option, the belief in organizational AI adoption saw a sharp increase between 2024 and 2025. It became evident that a considerable portion of employees were simply uninformed about their organization’s stance on AI technology.
Furthermore, the data indicates that staff in non-managerial roles are more likely to be unaware of their organization’s use of AI. This trend is also observed among part-time employees and those in hands-on roles. It appears that the further employees are from decision-making positions, the less informed they are about their organization’s adoption of AI technology.
