In response to customer feedback, Netgear has acquired Exium to fill a security gap in their product portfolio. The target market for this new security solution includes organizations with fewer than 500 employees and distributed enterprises, emphasizing the need for enterprise-grade reliability and support with simplified operations for MSP platforms.
Exium was chosen for its cloud-native architecture and focus on serving MSPs, aligning well with Netgear’s channel approach. Netgear plans to offer standalone security services from Exium while also developing integrated network and security packages, catering to the specific needs of their target customers at a competitive price point.
The acquisition of Exium by Netgear aims to provide customers with enhanced security capabilities such as URL filtering, basic firewalling, VPN access, zero trust for perimeter protection, and intrusion prevention/detection systems. By combining Exium’s expertise with Netgear’s network solutions, customers can expect a comprehensive and cost-effective security solution tailored for small to medium-sized enterprises.
