Netwise, a leading data center provider, has recently expanded its London East (NLE) data center by acquiring Units 5, 6, and 7 on the Datapoint estate, adding approximately 12,000ft² of additional space. This expansion is in response to the growing demand for data center capacity in London, with the NLE footprint now totaling around 38,000ft² and expected to accommodate 500 racks when fully deployed.
The newly acquired Unit 7 at London East will undergo refurbishment to create two additional data halls, designed for high-density workloads such as high performance computing (HPC) and AI/ML inference applications. Plans for the internal fit-out are still being finalized, with a significant increase in total power delivery to support the extra capacity. Netwise is committed to ensuring maximum availability for both existing and emerging deployment trends in the London data center market.
With the addition of Unit 7, Netwise now has full operational control over the south side of the Datapoint estate, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy. The London East footprint has grown nearly 200% since Phase 1 began in 2020, reflecting the increasing demand for high-quality data center space in London. This strategic move aligns with Netwise’s goal of providing flexible and reliable data center solutions to meet the evolving needs of their clients, positioning them as a key player in the London data center market.
